A Need

Most of us are good people
    Badly misunderstood
and not even trying to understand

In town there's a party tonight
Many will attend
There is a need inside
A heart
    hoping to speak
    hands hoping to touch
    arms hoping to hold

We won't be easy
We won't be hurt
and have another drink
As we open up
Will we be acting out what is inside
    or will we be ourselves?
