Everybodies People

I once believed
I was a servant slave to human Gods
I might be required to call you sir
But I don't have to like you
You might think you're so good
You might think you're so smart
You might think you're better than me
But in the end you'll see
I might be uneducated
I don't have that lust for power
But I can be me

But then I thought
Pride is blind
And I don't have to be
Being better
I can love and respect them
Don't have to believe in them
But believe in myself
I won't be like them
I have found
They can love and respect me
They don't have to believe in me
They believe in themselves
So I get along
And it's not wrong
